At Global Leadership Adventures, safety is our number one priority. We believe in the transformative power of teens stepping outside their comfort zones, and we created our 5-point Safety System to ensure students’ health and safety while they are outside the comfort of their home country.
1. Safe & Secure Lodging
The foundation of our safety system is the GLA home base, which is housing reserved exclusively for GLA students while on their program. This home away from home is a place to relax, gather for meals with peers, and reflect on the day’s service projects and excursions.
2. Caring Supervision
Students will either be with staff members, in groups, or assigned to a buddy system at all times. Our student to staff ratio is 6 to 1.
3. Healthy Meals & Purified Water
While there may be opportunities to sample local cuisine, all meals are prepared fresh daily for our students with a healthy mix of options. Students also have access to unlimited safe drinking water.
4. Expert Local Staff
Our in country staff members have intimate knowledge of the host communities. They have established relationships with medical professionals in the area as well as local organizations where students do community service.
5. Safe & Comfortable Transportation
Students are transported in GLA approved vehicles by experienced, licensed drivers at all times. At the time of arrival, GLA staff will be at the airport waiting to meet and greet each student, even if the flight is delayed or rescheduled.
