Today, the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil kicked off in spectacular fashion with a home team win over Croatia (3-1). Wondering what the next few days have in store for teams hailing from countries where Global Leadership Adventures operates programs? Check out our First Game Schedule and make time to cheer on your favorite team throughout the tournament– whether you’re abroad this summer or will be watching from home.
Costa Rica
With 5 GLA programs operating in Costa Rica during the 2014 World Cup, we’ll have plenty of students with something to cheer about on Saturday.
Costa Rica vs. Uruguay — June 14th, 3 PM EST
Ecuador
Our first program in Ecuador starts on Sunday, which happens to be the same day that Ecuador plays their first game against Switzerland! They’re in for a colorful introduction to the football-frenzy in South America.
Ecuador vs. Switzerland — June 15th, 12 PM EST
Ghana vs. United States
Since we’re an America company founded by a native Ghanaian, and we operate two programs in Ghana, this is a special game for anyone affiliated with GLA. Plus, after a USA loss to Ghana in the 2010 World Cup’s Round of 16, this is bound to be an exciting game…the Americans have been waiting 4 years for redemption.
Ghana vs. United States — June 16th, 6 PM EST

Definitely awesome! I was a member of the GLA Ghana group last year, and during our trip there the World Cup for the U-20 teams were playing. Ghana is HUUUUUGE in Ghana so it was super awesome and memorable to be able to cheer with all the local people 🙂 I can’t imagine how exciting this year’s world cup will be. Very hype!!
